Asia Interactive Awards

On Thursday night last week we attended the Asia Interactive Awards, at which we won 4 awards (3 Bronzes and 1 Silver). So no Golds yet. But we're working on it.

The sites were Ayesha Harben, CCC and our own Xmas greeting.

Creative Commons

I think we're all familiar with the concept of the creative commons. We (XM) were asked to get involved with the Malaysian Chapter of said worthy organisation. Phase one involved putting up a local site with limited functionality - just the facts - including a competition interface for the 2nd Creative Commons Competition.

We also did a bit of remixing ourselves, just to get into the spirit of things.

RHB Islamic Bank

This was a prticlularly inetresting project for us; what began purely as a web project soon expanded into the full blown branding exercise, including above the line and associated collateral.

All too often, especially here in Malaysia, there seems to be a belief that the web is the last, and indeed least important, piece of the marketing mix, and therefore cannot possibly have any bearing or influence on anything else.

Our mission is to convince our clients otherwise. A brand can start with any piece of communication - a brochure, a leaflet, a TV ad, or a web project.

What we set out to do here was allay a number of misconceptions regarding Islamic banking (it’s only for Muslims, it’s mysterious, it’s expensive). Strategically we wanted to express some core themes within Islamic Banking, such as the concept of shared risk and reward.

Hence the positioning "Share."

Ayesha Harben and Associates

launch

Great things start with a single thought. It's an axiom that describes both our client, and the inspiration for this site. As per the commentary in the previous post, our client trusted us enough not to interfere. The results speak for themselves.

The site is essentially an intelligent "thought engine" that learns from users; if it recognises your thought, it returns and expanded idea based on that thought. If not, it prompts you to expand the thought yourself.

Within the site, some rather cute animations illustrate the concept of organic growth.

Fire it up.
